The Framed House
Client: Nazar Location: Koothuparamb Year: 2026 Status: Proposed
The Framed House is a contemporary residence defined by bold geometric forms, expressive material contrasts, and a distinctive architectural frame. The design combines a traditional pitched roof with modern box-like volumes, creating a striking balance between familiar residential elements and contemporary architectural expression. A strong horizontal frame surrounds the upper-level facade, highlighting the rich multicoloured stone cladding and creating a sense of depth and visual order. Exposed concrete textures, warm timber accents, and clean white surfaces establish a sophisticated material palette that gives the residence its unique identity. The concept revolves around the idea of framing architecture as a composition of solid forms, openings, and layered surfaces. The projecting upper volume creates a strong visual presence, while the recessed balcony introduces depth, privacy, and a transitional outdoor space.
